As part of the educational programme SNVP 6th class students went for a field trip to Mahavir-Harina national park located in Vanastalipuram, Hyderabad. It is spread over 3758 acres.
Animals in this park include black bucks, porcupines, water monitors, short-toed eagles which is the state animal of AP, Indian pond herons, egrets, Kingfishers and several other bird species.
The park is maintained by the forest department. Films about the protection of different bird species were shown to the children to inculcate the awareness of biodiversity. Our students experienced eating in an open area with other friends. Students were later taken to a butterfly park where different species of butterfly were seen on attractive flowers.
Finally our students had a reflection about their trip and shared their experience with other friends.
