“Basant Panchmi” is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrated to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. This day was celebrated at Neelkanth Vidyapeeth, with great fervor and enthusiasm.
Yellow colour – represents the spiritual knowledge, is given importance on Basant panchmi. So the children dressed up in yellow clothes, offered yellow colored flowers to the Lord Swaminarayan. The whole school assembled together to pray and attain blessings from Neelkanth Swamijis to reach the epitome of knowledge. The pooja started with a beautiful Saraswati vandana and after that Prasad was distributed among the children. The school was abuzz with the festive spirit. Basant Panchami, the festival that spiritually signifies the days of ignorance and gloom are over and the period of joy and spiritual awakening has begun and it was thus celebrated remarkably springing hopes and aspirations in the students.
